Kitee is not a small village, it´s quite big, especially the surrounding. But there are living not many people, probably just 10.000.
But it´s a very beautiful village, quiet and pieceful. And I must say that the nature in and around Kitee is amazing! Of course we have that kind of nature in my town too, also very beautiful, but I was faszinated of the piece in that area. You can enjoy the nature there much more in my opinion. :)
I arrived at Friday quite late in the night, it was maybe already midnight. On Saturday, my friend picked me up and we made a day-trip by car in and around Kitee and we drove until Tohmajärvi. In the evening I decided to go to Silent Train´s concert in Karhu Ravintola. Marko Kämäräinen played there and I went there at 9 o´clock in the evening. At 10 my friend decided to join me and she came there too.
We have waited and waited and usually the gig should have started at 10, but then they have started to play at midnight! :D
But anyway, it was a nice gig, a nice evening and night. Although if I had problems in the morning to find the busstation...
It was terrible! I went to ask for a taxi. and I called some taxi offices but no one went on the phone... So there was no taxi to reach. I asked people, where the busstation is and one said: 2 kilometres in that direction.
I went with my luggage in that direction.
We had -10 degrees, it was windy and stormy... perfect weather for a kind of morning walk in Kitee. ;)
I met another person, who I decided to ask too, just to get sure that I walk in the right direction.
This person said: No, 2 kilometres in the other direction.
I was really down! It was probably 30 minutes before my bus would depart at the busstation and even didn´t know where to go at that time!
I walked and walked and walked... then I have seen a taxi and stopped it, but as I have told them my problem, they just drove away. Thanks! :O
After a time, I went back to the ABC supermarket, which is opened 24-hours every day and luckily I have met a nice person, who helped me and drove me to the busstation. :) Thank YOU! Otherwise I would have had a big problem, because this bus was the only one on that day to Joensuu. And I needed to reach that bus to reach my connecting bus to my town.
But luckily everything went well... :)
